Flowers & Coffee

Two of my favorite things? Flowers and coffee. I'm not talking about roses...I've never been that kind of girl. I want fresh cut beautiful, colorful flowers grown in a garden or farm. And coffee? As a mom of 4 kids, it's a lifeline over here.

When Randi from Travelers Coffee told me she would be at The Petal Post and thought it would make for a cool branding session, I was all in. A morning among rows of beautiful flowers and an iced cold sunshine mocha coffee? Count me in!

The farm was in Jefferson so the drive there was so peaceful. Pulling in I thought for sure it was going to be a bust for them because I didn't see any cars. Until I rounded the barn. 10 am and people were filling the place for coffee and flowers.

Randi and I both assumed it would be a nice slow day for photos. We were both very wrong about this. (which is a great problem to have). Travelers coffee line was swinging around to the drive way and they were crazy busy and The Petal Post was worried she would run out of flowers to be picked.

It was so fascinating watching Thad and Randi work together. Randi talked her way through the entire busy morning, while Thad maybe said a total of 3 words- focused on making coffee. Which, if you haven't had their coffee, I highly recommend. I am obsessed with their sunshine mocha. It is a mix of white chocolate and caramel. Get some cold foam on top and...perfection. (It's super good hot too)

Although it was crazy busy on a 90 degree day, in a coffee trailer they never lost their pure kindness to their customers (and me...whom I was probably in the way trying to snap while they worked).

I've had a stirring on my heart the past year and a half probably for small businesses. Maybe because I know what it's like to have one? But to know there is a family and a heart behind it...just makes it special. I'm working on some details to start regularly offering branding sessions. My heart behind it is to show off the heart behind your business. Not just your logo or product. While talking with an upcoming branding session I told her to ask her husband what color he thinks of when he thinks of her. I don't want some bland, generic representation of you...but the real you. Because that's who people want to support.
